International Gelshield Plus Blue Kit 2.25L
€267.46
The International Gelshield Plus Blue Kit 2.25L is a high-build, solvent-free two-component epoxy developed for the treatment of osmosis in GRP / fibreglass boat hulls.
It creates a thick protective epoxy barrier, with a minimum 150-micron film build per coat, and its blue colour makes it easier to monitor coverage when alternating with the green version.

International Gelshield Plus is designed specifically for the professional treatment of osmosis in fiberglass hulls. After the affected gelcoat has been correctly removed and the laminate has been thoroughly dried and prepared, Gelshield Plus forms a high-build epoxy barrier that helps restore and protect the hull.
Its 100% solids, solvent-free formulation contains no harmful solvents that can migrate into the laminate and contribute to renewed blistering. The product provides excellent film build, achieving at least 150 microns per coat.
The system is normally applied in 4 coats by brush or roller. Blue and green versions can be alternated between coats, making it easier to visually confirm complete and even coverage. Practical coverage is approximately 6 m²/L per coat.
Before applying antifouling, International specifies the use of Gelshield 200 as a tie coat. Gelshield Plus should not be applied directly over intact gelcoat and must not be thinned.

Important: Correct osmosis treatment requires thorough removal of the affected gelcoat, proper drying of the hull and careful substrate preparation. The manufacturer recommends professional assessment to confirm that the laminate is sufficiently dry before coating. Do not apply Gelshield Plus directly onto intact gelcoat or at ambient temperatures below 10°C.
Why Choose International Gelshield Plus?
For boats already affected by osmosis, Gelshield Plus provides a purpose-designed high-build epoxy repair system rather than a general-purpose primer. Its thick solvent-free coating, strong barrier properties and contrasting blue/green system make it particularly suitable for controlled, multi-coat GRP hull restoration.
