Description

Würth Marine Grease 400 g is a premium marine-grade lubricant developed to meet the rigorous demands of the sea. It is ideal for bearings, rollers, chains, pumps, underwater mechanisms, and other moving parts on boats, yachts, docks, and marine installations.

🛠 Key Features

  • Semi-synthetic with PTFE: The formulation uses synthetic base components and is enhanced with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) to reduce friction and improve performance under load.

  • Water-insoluble & steam-resistant: Stays in place even under water spray or steam exposure, reducing the need for reapplication.

  • Excellent resistance to corrosion and chemical attack: Protects metal surfaces from corrosion even in saltwater conditions.

  • High adhesion & mechanical stability: Clings to metal surfaces and resists being washed off, while maintaining consistency under vibration and load.

  • Extreme pressure (EP) properties: Suitable for loaded bearings and parts subject to high pressure, improving longevity of critical components.

  • Wide temperature tolerance: Can operate effectively across the temperatures typically encountered on marine vessels.

Why Use It in Marine Applications?

  1. Longer maintenance intervals — The grease does not wash out easily, even in harsh sea conditions, meaning less frequent re-lubrication.

  2. Protection under load — EP additives and PTFE ensure reliable lubrication even in heavily loaded parts.

  3. Corrosion prevention — Acts as a barrier against saltwater and moisture, crucial for marine hardware.

  4. Versatility — Usable on many marine components: propeller shaft bearings, rudder stocks, pulleys, decks, winches, rollers, etc.

  5. Ease of application — Accepts standard grease-gun application methods; compatible with many mechanical parts.

Application Guidelines

  • Clean first: Remove old grease, dirt, and corrosion before applying for best adhesion.

  • Apply moderately: Use a grease gun, brush, or spatula to coat bearing surfaces, rollers, pivots, and other contact points.

  • Reapply as needed: Check at intervals based on exposure; in extreme conditions reapplication may be necessary.

  • Avoid mixing with incompatible greases: To preserve performance, do not mix with greases of radically different chemistry unless fully compatible.
