Wichard MXEvo Friction Block Captive Pin
€68.81 – €108.00Price range: €68.81 through €108.00
The Wichard MXEvo Friction Block Captive Pin is a compact, high-load friction block designed for demanding yacht and sailing rigging applications.
Its one-piece stainless steel construction, captive high-resistance pin and specially designed rope track provide excellent strength while keeping weight and dimensions low. The retaining leash keeps the pin attached when the block is opened, making rope installation easier and reducing the risk of losing the pin.
Ideal for 2:1 halyard purchase systems, mainsail, spinnaker and gennaker halyards, flying sail furlers and other high-load yacht rigging applications.
Available in 8 mm and 10 mm.
High-Load MXEvo Friction Block
The MXEvo is Wichard’s new generation of compact one-piece friction blocks, developed specifically for applications where high working loads, reduced weight and reliable rope guidance are important.
Unlike a conventional pulley with a rotating sheave, the rope runs over a specially shaped track. Integrated fins help keep the rope correctly positioned, while the track geometry is designed to limit unnecessary rope wear.
The MXEvo also incorporates a becket function, allowing it to be used when creating purchase systems.
Captive Pin for Easy Installation
The captive-pin version is designed to make installation and handling easier.
A retaining leash keeps the pin connected to the block while it is opened, positioned or closed, greatly reducing the chance of losing the pin during rigging work.
The MXEvo body is manufactured from 316L stainless steel, while the pin is forged from high-resistance 17-4 PH stainless steel.
Ideal for Sailing & Yacht Rigging
Wichard recommends the captive-pin MXEvo for applications including:
- 2:1 mainsail halyard purchase
- Spinnaker halyards
- Gennaker halyards
- Flying sail furler terminals
- Top or bottom furler tensioning
- High-load running rigging
- Compact purchase systems
Its combination of compact dimensions and high load capacity makes it particularly useful where conventional blocks would add unnecessary weight or bulk.
